Abstract
An attempt has been made to review briefly, some of the developments that have taken place in the high temperature protective coating technologies applicable for aerospace and other fields. Drawbacks of diffusion coating methods are discussed and importance of adopting the electro-deposition route to produce low cast overlay and wear resistance coatings are emphasized
