Abstract

The aqueous electropolymerisation process can be used for the production of primer coatings on metals. Recent studies have shown that such types of coatings are highly corrosion resistant. Further it is also shown that electropolymerisation coating with pigment is feasible. Besides, the use of polymers such as polyaniline as pigment in paint coatings has been demostrated. This review summarises the electropolymerisation studies carried out on steel and copper.
