Abstract

The inhibiting effect of various combinations of ethyl phosphonic acid (EPA)-Zn2+ system in controlling corrosion of mild steel in neutral aqueous environment, containing 60 ppm Cl- has been investigated by weight loss method. Polarisation study reveals that EPA-Zn2+ system functions as a mixed inhibitor. The nature of the protective film has been analysed by X-ray diffraction
