Abstract

Nickel powder INCO 255 was used to prepare the electrodes. The cathode was a porous nickel plate. Pure Ni and Ni + 10% Cr were used. Aqueous slurry casting and tape casting meUlods using a doctor blade assembly were followed to fabricate several batches of electrodes of desired thickness. TGA analysis was employed to determine the binder and plasticizer burnt-out conditions. These electrodes were sintered in hydrogen atmosphere at 1073 K. The characteristics of the tapes such as thickness, shrinkage factor and porosity values were reported.
