Abstract

The corrosion inhibition of iron in acid chloride solution offered by a new class of water soluble, commerciaUy available acid black n, has been studied. Corrosion inhibition property was evaluated by the Tafel extrapolation method, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and weight loss methods. The results indicate that the acid black" is capable of inhibiting the corrosion of iron in 1 M HCI by 95% at 100 ppm level.
